Meet the Village Clerk

Melissa was appointed Village Clerk in June 2023. She has served as the Chairperson of the Lapeer County Municipal Clerks Association, and Deputy Clerk at Elba and Oregon Townships.  You can contact her at 810.688.2620 or email at melissa@northbranchvillage.org

The Village office hours are Monday- Thursday 8am to 4pm and Closed on Fridays. 

a. The clerk has charge of all the books, vouchers, and documents relating to the accounts, contracts, debts and revenues of the corporation.

b. Countersign and register all bonds issued and keep a list of all property belonging to the village, and of all of its debits and liabilities.

c.  Keep a complete set of books, exhibiting the financial condition of the village in all its departments, funds, resources, and liabilities, with a proper classification, and showing the purpose for which, each fund was raised.

d.  Keep an account of all the money received for each of the several funds of the village, and credit all check disbursements drawn, keeping an account with each fund.

In addition to the services listed above, the clerk keeps a permanent record of the proceedings of all of the Village Council and commissions.  All elections are now held by the North Branch Township Clerk at the North Branch Township Hall, 6771 Elm Street, per the state change in 2012.
